Outstanding results in Steyning

STEYNING Grammar School is celebrating ‘another set of outstanding A-Level examination results’ today (Thursday August 18).

Chris Taylor, headteacher, said: “This has not been achieved by chance, but by through the hard work and dedication of our students, the support of their parents and the commitment of our staff. My congratulations go to them all.”

The grammar school on Shooting Field entered 195 candidates at A-Level with over 20% of all entries achieving an A* or A grade. In 26 of their subjects the pass rate was 100%.

Some students achieved three or more As and A*s, with the school saying they were ‘impressed with the high achievements of their gifted and talented students.’

Will Chambers obtained four A*s in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Biology, he will be attending Clare College, Cambridge to read Natural Sciences. Owain Jones will be attending Oxford at St Edmund Hall studying Natural Sciences (Biochemistry).

Ruby Frankland studied English, Maths and Latin in which she got an A* and two As and she will be attending University of Exeter and studying English and Philosophy.

Mathematics and Sciences continued to thrive in the school who specialises in Science, Business and Enterprise and Applied Learning.
