Arundawn Dog Rescue, based in Horsham, focuses largely on providing rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming for strays from across the country who are sadly facing euthanasia through no fault of their own.
The adorable dogs below are all looking for loving homes in Sussex and beyond.
Maggie is a delightful and happy girl who is looking for a active home. She would love a family who enjoy walks and getting out and about. She is good with other dogs so could share a home with a friend but would be equally happy to be an only pet, according to the rescue. She cannot be rehomed with cats. Maggie is described as a 'bright and engaging dog' and is doing well in foster after being found as a stray. She loves to play and do zoomies with her canine friends. Photo: Arundawn
6. Ruby - four-year-old Beagle
Ruby is a lovely, affectionate girl who must live with at least one other dog. She needs an active family in a rural location as she needs lots of exercise and mental stimulation. She has been around children aged over seven and is friendly with every person she meets, Arundawn said. Sadly, she has had a few homes already and has some separation anxiety, which her foster carers are working on. Her new family will need to continue her training. She cannot be homed with cats. 7. Monty - nine years old
Arundawn has said 'Monty is one of those dogs that come into rescue and just breaks our hearts'. The Rottweiler cross Dobermann had not been walked in two years, had become overweight and was terrified of the outdoors. However, after spending time in his foster home he has become 'a complete cuddlebug' and, despite his size, believes he can fit in your lap. He loves playing fetch and has lost all the excess weight he had when he first arrived so is looking very sleek and healthy. Monty is walked with a muzzle as he is still reactive to other dogs so cannot be rehomed with any other pets, and will need to be adopted by someone who is capable of walking him due to his strength on the lead. He is also still quite anxious when going outside so this will need to be worked on, and also means he would like to find a home in a very quiet and rural location. He can live with children older than 12. Photo: Arundawn
8. Oscar - two years old
Oscar has been a 'work in progress' since arriving at Arundawn more than a year ago. The staff say they all love him but he is 'quirky' with some fears and anxieties, and 'little in the way of social skills'. He is looking for an experienced and patient home, with no cats, small animals or children, but could live with a calm and tolerant female Lurcher or similar. Oscar has 'boundless energy' and is loving, loyal and affectionate. He would make a great companion for a patient owner. Photo: Arundawn
