If you’re considering welcoming a new dog into your family, take a look at the adorable rescue pooches below.

There are plenty of adorable pooches up for adoption at Dogs Trust – in total, the charity normally cares for about 14,000 dogs across its network of rehoming centres.

Its branch in Shoreham currently has a whole variety of adorable pooches looking for homes, including adorable Labradors, Spaniels and a Yorkshire Terrier.

Charlotte is a very sweet girl who can be a little unsure in new environments - once settled, she enjoys a cuddle and a game with her toys. Being a young girl, Charlotte is best suited to active adopters who will enjoy continuing her basic training. She can get excited and jump up when greeting new people, and is still working on her loose lead walking skills. Her ideal home will have a garden and adopters who are able to build up her leaving times gradually. Charlotte will need to be the only animal in the home and can live with children over 14 years old.

She still loves her walks and sniffs, and is always excited about getting out and about, but is equally happy to settle at home and snooze beside your feet under the desk or snuggled on the sofa in front of the TV. She is always looking to make new friends who will give her her favourite ear scratches and belly rubs. Polly is worried by busy traffic and not comfortable around other dogs so a quieter home and walking areas would suit her best. She has some ongoing medication which her new owner will need to make sure she gets to keep her in the best of health. Polly is uncomfortable around children due to previous experiences but could not be happier to have fuss and attention from the grown-ups.
