5. Bertie - two-year-old crossbreed
Bertie has a gentle heart and a playful spirit waiting to shine, according to Dogs Trust. Watching him grow in confidence is incredibly rewarding, and once you've earned his trust, you'll discover the wonderfully goofy boy hiding beneath his shy exterior. When he decides you're one of his favourite people, he will run over and throw himself at you for a cuddle! He adores soft toys, loves a game of ball in the garden with people he knows, and is wonderfully animated and excitable. Bertie has already made fantastic progress and continues to grow in confidence, proving that with kindness and patience he is ready to keep blossoming into a sweet, loyal companion. 6. Luna - one-year-old Labrador
Luna is a wonderfully friendly and affectionate young dog with a huge zest for life. She adores people and greets new faces with enthusiasm, although she can become a little excitable and will need support managing her feelings. She is looking for adopters who can continue her training and help manage her anxieties. Luna enjoys playing with toys on her own and can often be seen throwing them around her kennel. She loves being out exploring and is happy walking alongside other dogs, making her an ideal companion for adopters who enjoy long countryside strolls and an active lifestyle. With the right guidance, patience and support, Luna has all the makings of a fun, loyal and rewarding companion who will bring plenty of energy and love into her future home. Photo: Dogs Trust

7. Otto - six-year-old Jack Russell
Otto is a very sweet boy with a huge personality and an even bigger heart! Once Otto knows you, you'll have a loyal little shadow who is always happy to see his favourite people. He likes a fuss on his own terms and enjoys gentle strokes around his chest and neck. He is a very bright boy and wonderfully food motivated, making him a joy to train., according to Dogs Trust. Although Otto finds seeing other dogs overwhelming, he's already learnt some brilliant training skills to help him cope and adopters will continue to receive support after adoption. Behind those big feelings is an incredibly lovely, funny and characterful ball of energy who greets everyone with enthusiasm. Photo: Dogs Trust

8. Madge - seven-year-old Greyhound
Madge is looking for a loving home where she can truly relax and enjoy home life. She would thrive with adopters who can offer her a home in a quieter residential area, with access to peaceful walking routes away from busy traffic, and ideally a secure garden where she can enjoy some off-lead zoomies! Madge could happily live with sensible secondary school-aged children and would be comfortable in a home with regular visitors, as she likes meeting new people. She is fairly independent and can be left for short periods once settled, though she will need a period with gradual leaving times. As she is not fully housetrained, her new family should be patient and committed to continuing her training. With low to moderate exercise needs, she would suit someone who enjoys relaxed daily walks and a cozy, easy-going home life. Photo: Dogs Trust
