East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service welcomes new wholetime firefighters
East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service welcomed its newests wholetime firefighters at a formal Pass Out Parade.
The ceremony, held at the Service Training Centre in Maresfield on October 23, marked the successful completion of the 43rd Wholetime Firefighter Recruit Course.

Throughout the course, the recruits completed training in all aspects of the firefighter role, including firefighting techniques, road traffic collision response, working at height, water rescue, hazardous materials, first aid and medical response, and the use of breathing apparatus.
The recruits were assessed through a combination of practical exercises and theoretical examinations to ensure they could respond safely, professionally and effectively as part of an operational crew.
The Pass Out Parade was attended by senior officers, Fire Authority Members, instructors, family members and friends, who gathered to recognise the hard work and determination shown by the new firefighters throughout their training.
A spokesperson for East Sussex Fire and Rescue said: “All our recruits have demonstrated exceptional commitment and determination throughout their training as well as a charity fire engine pull!
“Their hard work and dedication have equipped them with the knowledge and skills to support the vital work of ESFRS in helping to keep our communities safe.
“The firefighters should be proud of their achievements and will be an asset to the Service and the communities we serve.
“We’d also like to extend a special thanks to families and friends who have helped and supported them throughout this process."
