Brighton injury list in full
Kaoru Mitoma: The Japan international has been sidelined for the entire campaign so far after injurying his hamstring against Wolves towards the backend of last season. Mitoma missed the summer World Cup and is pushing hard for a return to full fitness.
Head coach Fabian Hurzeler advised that Brighton will not rush him back and the German - speaking ahead of the win against Crystal Palace - said that after the next international break is a realistic target. Brighton’s first match after the next break is at Hull City on November 22.
Yankuba Minteh: Hurzeler stated last week that Minteh was close to being available for last Sunday’s win against Crystal Palace. Minteh though missed that match and Sunday’s 2-0 loss to Liverpool also arrived too soon.
The double header against Manchester City is now a target for the Gambian flyer.
Mats Wieffer: The Dutch full back is nearing a return from a knee injury sustained in the 4-3 loss at Chelsea earlier this season. Liverpool last Sunday proved too soon but Brighton will be keen to get him back especially after Kadioglu’s injury at Liverpool. He could be an option to face Man City.
Femi Azeez: Hurzeler said the deadline day arrival from Millwall is "getting closer" and could get his first minutes for the club "very soon". The winger maybe an option for the Eithad.
Pascal Struijk: The £18m arrival from Leeds has a thigh injury and missed the win against Palace and the loss to Liverpool. He remains a doubt for City with Hurzeler stating “It’s an injury that could get worse.”
Zadok Yohanna: The Nigerian winger builds up his fitness following his summer arrival and the £22m man could be an option after the international break.
Chema Andres: Brighton fans will eagerly await results from a scan after he injured his hip early in the second half at Liverpool. Major doubt for the City matches.
Ferdi Kadioglu: The Turkey international was forced off after six minutes with a hip issue. Similar to Andres, Brighton are awaiting the results of a scan to assess the seriousness. “It was not our day,” said Hurzeler after the loss at Liverpool.
Evan Ferguson: The Ireland international striker continues his recovery from a long term ankle injury and remains some way off a return. Previously, Hurzeler was unable to provide an expected return date.
Stefanos Tzimas: The Greek striker suffered an ACL injury last season and remains sidelined. No set date for a return as yet but Hurzeler said he's in "good spirits."
