The walk will start on the May 8 and will last until May 15. Events manager at the hospice, Beth Hillier said: “This is the second time we've held the trek and its popularity is ever-increasing because of the truly wonderful experience people have walking the Camino. We are running two trips next year. Week one is full and we are now filling the last few places for week two. We would love a few more people to join us, and our team will support you all the way in reaching your fundraising target.”

A spokesperson for the hospice also added: “For Julie, the Camino de Santiago is more than just a trek.

“Having supported St Wilfrid's Hospice for over 15 years, she has seen the difference hospice care makes to local families.

“Now Julie is taking on a new challenge, walking the final 100km of the Camino de Santiago in May 2027.

"I think I'll discover things about myself on the way round. It'll be quite a journey physically, but also inside."

Could you follow in Julie's footsteps?

“Join us from 8th -15th May 2027 for an unforgettable journey through the beautiful Galician countryside, while helping to raise vital funds for St Wilfrid's Hospice.
