Major South Downs road to close 'for short time' on Friday
and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
The A29 at Church Hill in Pulborough was closed in December following a landslide which led to chaos in the village with traffic snarl-ups, safety fears and a loss of trade for local businesses.
The road reopened to single-lane traffic, controlled by traffic lights, in April. But now West Sussex County Council says it needs to shut the road again for a short time to to carry out a pre-winter detailed assessment of embankments in the area.

Hide AdA spokesperson said: “For the safety of both the public and workforce, a short-term road closure is essential. It will start at 10am on Friday (October 27) and should last no longer than three hours.
"As with previous closures, there will be a full, signed diversion route.
“We appreciate that this will cause some disruption to the local road network and apologise for any inconvenience.”
