Police cadets in Eastbourne have 'busy month' in new round-up
Eastbourne Police revealed all of training and challenges cadets took part in during October.
A force spokesperson said: “Our Eastbourne Volunteer Police Cadets (VPC) had a busy October, combining fitness challenges, road safety learning and some Halloween fun

“The month began with cadets taking on the UK police bleep test, a 15-metre shuttle run used to assess fitness; all the cadets reached the required standard, with many smashing the target, and a few even deciding to take on the challenge twice!
“Cadets also continued work on their drink, drug and anti-social driving awareness project, which will be presented at the Volunteer Police Cadets Annual Parade next August, with the group having many discussions about the impact these behaviours can have on road users and communities, while developing ideas for posters, leaflets and social media content aimed at young people.
“To support the project, road safety specialists visited to share their knowledge, and cadets got hands-on experience using impairment simulation goggles to see how drink and drug driving can affect vision and reactions; the project has also received a welcome boost after securing funding from the Eastbourne Joint Action Group.
“Overall, it was another great month, with cadets learning new skills, raising awareness of important issues and having fun along the way.
“A big thank you to all the cadets for their hard work and enthusiasm throughout the month, as well as the leaders and volunteers whose time and support help make these opportunities possible.”
