Selsey RNLI display cancelled due to poor weather forecast
The annual RNLI display at Selsey West Beach has been cancelled due to forecast strong winds and rain.
The display was due to take place on Saturday, August 29, but the RNLI said it had been cancelled because of safety concerns for crew, volunteers and spectators.

The forecast from the Met Office for August 29 is for cloudy conditions and showers, with ‘strong winds’ expected along the coast.
The Met Office has also forecast maximum gusts of up to 45mph at Selsey Beach.
A spokesperson for the RNLI said: “Regrettably the weather forecast is not good for our annual display at West Beach planned for tomorrow, Saturday, August 29.
“We are expecting plenty of wind and rain so with the safety of everyone in mind, including the lifeboat crew, volunteers and spectators, the decision has been made to cancel the display.
“We are sorry for any disappointment or inconvenience this may cause.”
The Station Visits room and RNLI shop will remain open as usual from 10am to 4pm.
