Weekend storms threatened Hastings area water supply
Southern Water put homes on alert after two pumping stations were affected by storms.
Two water supply works at Beauport in Hastings and Powdermill, at Brede, shut down due to local power interruptions but luckily the taps kept running.

A number of vulnerable residents on the priority list had bottled water delivered to their homes on Sunday as a precaution.
A Southern Water spokesperson said: “Our teams responded to challenging power issues over a 48 hour period and we worked around the clock to keep taps flowing. All customers remained in supply as normal.
"As a precaution, throughout the day on Sunday, we delivered bottled water to our highest priority customers. We also had bottled water stations prepared and on standby.”
