South Bersted Cub wins county badge contest

A MEMBER of the 1st South Bersted Air Scouts from Bognor Regis has been named the winner of a badge designing competition.

This year is the 75th anniversary of Air Scouting and the county competition was held to mark the occasion.

The competition was open to all Beavers, Cubs, Air Scouts and Air Explorers in West Sussex.

The difficult decision to choose a design was made by county commissioner Irene Orford.

Alfie Jones, one of the youngest Cubs in the Arrows Pack at 1st South Bersted Air Scouts, was eventually named the winner.

His badge will be worn on the uniforms of all Air Scouts, Explorers, Cubs and Beavers in West Sussex County.

Wendy Morris, Alfie’s Akela, said: “We are all very excited and proud to be wearing Alfie’s design on our uniform as we celebrate the 75th anniversary of Air Scouting.”
