The Siena Singers sing for Dementia Support
Concert
The Siena Singers will perform at Sage House in Tangmere this October, taking audiences on a musical journey through centuries of choral music while raising vital funds for Sage House.
Taking place on Friday, October 23 from 7pm–9pm, the concert will see the Siena Singers perform at Sage House for the first time under the direction of musical director Giles White.
Based in Cocking, the Siena Singers perform a wide repertoire of sacred and secular music, singing in up to eight-part harmony.
Musical director Giles White brings a wealth of professional experience to the group. Having studied music at King’s College, London and singing at the Royal Academy of Music, he began his professional choral career with Chichester Cathedral Choir in 1995. He later became a lay clerk at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, where he sang at royal and state occasions as well as on broadcasts, recordings and international tours.
The concert at Sage House will feature a varied programme spanning the Renaissance through to the 20th century, with works by Palestrina, Pitoni, Lotti, Stanford, Grieg and Bruckner, alongside English and European choral music, solo songs, spirituals and musical theatre classics.
Emma Radley, CEO at Sage House, said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming the Siena Singers to Sage House for what promises to be a really special evening.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity to enjoy beautiful live choral music in an intimate setting while supporting the work we do here at Sage House. We’re incredibly grateful to Giles and the Siena Singers for giving their time and talent to support Dementia Support.”
All proceeds from the evening will go to Sage House, helping the charity continue to provide vital support, guidance and services for people living with dementia and their families across the local community.
