Bognor Regis roadworks: Drivers face turn restriction and overnight closures

Drivers around Bognor Regis face traffic restrictions as two highways schemes continue through October and November.

The left-turn lane into Yapton Road – from the A259 heading towards Middleton-on-Sea – closed on Monday, October 19. It is expected to reopen on November 13.

West Sussex Highways said the closure would allow advance water diversion works, as part of the A259 Bognor Regis to Littlehampton scheme.

A diversion route via Flansham is signposted locally.

Meanwhile, works on the A29 Shripney Road and Shripney Lane are scheduled to continue until November 27. This is part of a bus service improvement and community highways scheme.

Multi-way traffic lights will operate between 8am and 4pm, Monday to Friday, during the works, which began on October 5.

Night-time road closures are also scheduled for November 16 to 18.
