Fewer direct trains and cancellations impact multiple East Sussex stations - Southern Rail explains why
Southern Rail has cancelled multiple trains between Eastbourne and Ashford International, amid ongoing repair works.
Fewer direct trains are running in both directions between the two busy stations, with replacement buses in operation.
Southern listed Hastings, Ore, Winchelsea, Rye, Appledore, Ham Street and Ashford International as stations with fewer trains. Brighton to Ore services were running as usual.
Disruption is expected to last until 11.30pm, on Sunday (November 8).

“Fewer direct trains are running in both directions between Eastbourne and Ashford International,” Southern said in a service update, on social media.
“You may need to take a replacement bus for part or all of your journey between Hastings and Ashford International.”
The cancelled services are the 8.50am and 8.50pm departures from Eastbourne and the 10.24am and 10.34pm departures from Ashford International.
Southern confirmed two replacement buses operated by Travel Masters. The first was scheduled to leave Hastings for Ashford International at 9.30am, with a bus in the opposite direction at 10.30am. The operator said it had requested more buses and would update the journey planner once they were confirmed.
“If you need to take a bus, please allow at least 30 minutes extra for your journey,” Southern said.
Southern said passengers who decide against travelling or are unable to complete their journey because of the cancellations can claim a full refund from the original ticket seller.
