Heavy traffic on A24 north of Worthing after Long Furlong closure

There have been reports of heavy traffic on the A24 north of Worthing this evening (Thursday, October 15).
AA Traffic News at www.theaa.com/route-planner/traffic-news first reported the issue at Findon Valley 3.46pm.
The note on the live map said: “Queueing traffic due to people avoiding the closure of the A280 Long Furlong for water main works on A24 Findon Road Southbound from A280 Long Furlong (Findon Roundabout) to Lime Tree Avenue.”
