A section of a major road in Eastbourne will be closed overnight for five days so an inspection can be carried out on a bridge, according to East Sussex Highways.

East Sussex Highways said Cross Levels Way (A2280) will be closed from Lottbridge Roundabout through to Broadwater Roundabout between 8pm-6am starting on Monday, March 20.

The section of the road will be closed so an inspection can be carried out on the Cross Levels Railway Bridge.

The inspection will be done from a ‘large lorry mounted access platform’ sited on the top of the bridge, according to a spokesperson from East Sussex Highways.
