"On-street parking will be suspended for the duration of the works; however, vehicle access to off-road parking for the flats will be maintained.”

An SGN spokesperson added: “From Monday 27 July, we’re upgrading our gas network in Park Road for approximately 12 weeks.

“We're replacing our old metal pipes, reaching the end of their useful lives. These essential works involve replacing old, metal pipes with new longer-lasting plastic ones.

“For everyone’s safety around our work area, we’ll need to temporarily close Park Road.

"A signed diversion route will be in place and access maintained for residents. We’ll also maintain parking spaces for residents with off road parking.

“We’re sorry for any inconvenience our work may cause and thank the local community for their patience.”

The work will be carried out in three phases: between Lyndhurst Road and Kings Hall; between Kings Hall and Kings Mews, between Kings Mews and Brighton Road.

A diversion route is in place via Brighton Road, Madeira Avenue and Lyndhurst Road, according to One.Network.
