Firefighters were called to assist police officers after a late-night collision in Worthing.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said it was alerted around 10.45pm on Sunday (June 25) to ‘reports of a road traffic collision’ on Chesswood Road.

“Joint Fire Control mobilised one fire engine from Worthing Fire Station to the scene,” a spokesperson for the fire service said.

"Upon arrival crews provided scene safety, before leaving the incident at 11.30pm.”

Sussex Police said this was a ‘damage-only collision’, adding: “Police are not appealing for any further information at this time.”
