Blackwell’s first game as Crawley Town boss ends in point against Tranmere Rovers

Crawley Town secured a 1-1 draw with Tranmere Rovers with rain and wind lashing around the Broadfield Stadium in Kevin Blackwell’s first game in charge.

Crawley made two changes from Tuesday night’s defeat to Shrewsbury with Kellan Gordon and Danilo Orsi coming in for Nathan Tinsdale and Osman Kamara, who both dropped to the bench.

After a fairly uneventful first half, Dylan Morgan opened the scoring on 52 minutes with a half volley from just inside the area, but William Vaulks equalised on 59 minutes off a deflected shot by Tom Ince. Tranmere goalkeeper Luke McGee kept Tranmere in the game, with several last ditch saves.

Vito Mannone – 7 -Made a few good saves, not much he could do with the Tranmere goal, distribution in the first half was better than the second, playing into the wind.

Priestley Farquharson – 7.5 - Solid at the back, helping Russell at the back, one of his better performances.

Lewis Richards – 7- Did well on the right side of defence, as well as going forward,

Jonny Russell – 7 - Booked in the first half, and struggled against Joe Ironside at Centre Back

Ade Adeyemo – 7.5 – Back in his usual position on the wing and made some great runs with the ball, also tracked back well when needed. Replaced by Dion Pereira on 69 minutes.

Jude Arthurs – 8.5 -All over the park as usual, plenty of effort in attack and defence, as you would expect from him.

Kai Jennings – 7 - Played well in the midfield, without doing too much. Always a presence going forward.

Dylan Morgan – 8 - Scored Crawley’s opener with a superb strike, and had an early effort pushed onto the bar.

Stephen Duke-McKenna – 7.5 – Looked a threat going forward but was well marked all game. Replaced by Nathan Tinsdale on 89 minutes

Danilo Orsi – 7 – Didn’t really do much, had a shot cleared off the line in the first half, but not a lot else. Replaced by Pemi Aderoju on 69 minutes
