'Agreed' - Brighton make transfer deadline day breakthrough as winger arrives for medical
All the latest transfer news and gossip for Brighton and Hove Albion and across the Premier League
Brighton received a transfer deadline day boost as they secured the signing of winger Femi Azeez from Millwall.

Brighton had been pushing to sign the Nigerian international and finally made the breakthrough as they agreed to a £15m package with the Championship club.
It’s said to be an initial fee of £12.5m, with the rest in add-ons and the 25-year-old will arrive on a four-year deal with an option for another year.
Transfer expert David Orstein posted: “EXCL: Brighton & Hove Albion reach agreement with Millwall to sign Femi Azeez.
“Deal for 25yo #Millwall winger initial £12.5m (package just over £15m) & Nigeria int’l given permission to do medical ahead of joining #BHAFC on 4+1yr contract @TheAthleticFC.”
The arrival of Azeez is a huge boost for Brighton as first choice wingers Kaoru Mitoma and Yankuba Minteh are both sidelined with injuries.
Minteh is also wanted by Liverpool, who have seen two bids for the Gambian flyer rejected by Brighton.
the Seagulls are still bracing themselves for a further bid from Liverpool for Minteh in the closing hours of the window.
Azeez wanted Brighton
Azeez was determined to secure a move to the Premier League and Brighton were always his No 1 option despite interest from elsewhere, including Hull and Wrexham.
The Nigerian international was named in the Championship Team of the Season for 2025-26 campaign, having scored 11 goals and provided seven assists.
Orozco off to Spain
Meanwhile, Brighton’s Matias Orozco has joined Spanish second tier team Castellon on loan.
The 18-year-old Colombian joined Brighton for £3.5m from Deportivo Cali last week. He will join Albion winger Rodrigo Rego, 21, on the east coast of Spain.
Blimey O'Riley
The situation around Brighton playmaker Matt O’Riley seems active as Fenerbahçe looked to seal a loan move for the playmaker.
One week ago and I would have said O'Riley is certain to leave this window, now I'm not so sure.
Injuries to Jack Hinshelwood and Georginio have opened a space in the No 10 role. O'Riley also has long-standing interest in Serie A, with Roma and Atalanta both keen on the former Celtic man.
My hunch is that he will stay until the next transfer window at least.
