'Most beneficial' - Brighton confirm deal for winger on transfer deadline day
All the latest dealings for Brighton and Hove Albion on transfer deadline day
Caylan Vickers has completed a permanent transfer to League One side Burton Albion, for undisclosed terms.
The winger joined Albion from Reading in 2024, spending time out on loan with Mansfield Town, Barnsley and Wigan Athletic.
Sporting director Mike Cave said, “Caylan has had a couple of loans since he joined us and for him to progress, a permanent move is most beneficial.
“We wish him the best of luck for the future.”
Hutchinson to AC Milan
Elsewhere, Nottingham Forest winger Omari Hutchinson has joined AC Milan on a season-long loan deal, with the Serie A club having the option of a permanent deal.
Hutchinson joined Forest from Ipswich in a £37.5 million deal last year but struggled for first team opportunities and made just 17 Premier League starts.
Forest confirmed details of the deal in a short statement which concluded: “Everyone at Nottingham Forest wishes Omari all the best for his time in Italy.”
Munoz reunion
Colombia right-back Daniel Munoz has joined Nottingham Forest from Crystal Palace on a three-year deal with a club option for another year.
He reunites with ex-Palace boss Oliver Glasner, with whom the 30-year-old won the FA Cup – assisting Eberechi Eze’s winning goal in the final – as well as the Community Shield and Conference League.
He made 46 appearances across all competitions for Palace last season, scoring four Premier League goals and adding three assists.
Munoz said: “The first thing is that this is a winning club. I think that when this is the expectation, the mentality, both for the management and the technical team, and for the players, this makes it special.”
Abraham warning
Aston Villa boss Unai Emery has told Tammy Abraham he has to get better after revealing the striker turned down the chance to leave.
Abraham rejoined Villa in an £18million January move, but he failed to impress Emery and spent large parts of last season on the bench.
The 28-year-old looked set to join the Villa Park exodus this summer, with the club allowing a loan move to Ipswich, but Abraham wants to stay.
“Tammy is coming back to the Premier League,” Emery said. “I spoke with him. He needs time but he needs to do it as soon as possible to adapt to the Premier League.
“He didn’t perform like we wanted last year.
“Now we have one striker, (Nicolas) Jackson, we are very happy with him. We have (Brian) Madjo, but he is injured and Tammy Abraham’s decision is to stay here.
“We opened the door for him but he’s decided to stay here with us.
“I am going to be very demanding with him to add his qualities with us.”
