'Out of nowhere' - Transfer deal sheet explained as Brighton attempt shock signing in the final hours

All the latest transfer deadline day news for Brighton and Hove Albion and across the Premier League

Brighton will hope to wrap a surprise deal for Chema Andrés in the closing stages of the summer transfer window.

The Seagulls have agreed a package of around £20m with Bundesliga club Stuttgart for the 21-year-old Spaniard.

The former Real Madrid man is nicknamed "Baby Rodri" and had previously been linked Chelsea and Manchester City.

Albion are determined to sign a midfielder as they sold Carlos Baleba to Manchester United for £70m and have injury concerns with Yasin Ayari, Mats Wieffer, Jack Hinshelwood and Georginio.

Transfer expert Florian Plettenberg posted: "EXCLUSIVE | Chema Andrés to Brighton - DONE DEAL ✔️

"Verbal agreement reached with VfB Stuttgart over a transfer for 21 y/o talented midfielder. Up to €23m all-in + sell-on. Chema on his way for medical. The deal moved very quickly today."

Do Brighton still have time to get the deal done?

The transfer window closes at 11pm tonight and Brighton will hope to get everything signed and sealed by then.

However, should they need a little extra time and penalties, then clubs can potentially have until 1am to get signings over the line.

The deal sheet. This is a document that can be submitted to the Premier League between the times of 9pm and 11pm, if clubs feel they are struggling to tie up the loose ends.

It’s basically a form that details the player, the two trading clubs and the proposed finances details of the transfer.

Once this form has been sent to the Premier League, the clubs have an extension of two-hours.

Fernandez record deal

Meanwhile, Chelsea have agreed to sell midfielder Enzo Fernandez to Manchester City for £125million as Mykhailo Mudryk and Tosin Adarabioyo prepare to make deadline-day moves to rivals Tottenham.

With the 11pm deadline fast approaching, a British record-equalling deal has been struck to take the Argentina international to the Etihad Stadium.

The size of the fee for Fernandez matches that paid by Liverpool to Newcastle for Alexander Isak a year ago and sees Fernandez join his former Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca at City.
