FA Trophy 2nd round draw: Five Sussex clubs discover opponents
The draw has been made for the second round of the FA Trophy – and five Sussex clubs are involved.
Four of them – Eastbourne Borough, Burgess Hill Town, Whitehawk and Chichester City – reached round two with first-round victories on Saturday, while step tow side Horsham enter at the next stage.
Eastbourne Borough, Burgess Hill and Whitehawk all came through on penalties – at Leatherhead and Erith Town and at home to St Albans respectively – while Chichester City won 2-0 at Gosport Borough and Whitehawk.
But two Sussex clubs went out in the first round – Three Bridges lost at Dartford and Hastings, our final Sussex step four team left in, went down 3-2 at home to Waltham Abbey.

That leaves six Sussex clubs still dreaming of the Wembley final – the five now in the second round plus Worthing, who as a National League side have yet to get involved.
The draw for round two was made on Monday afternoon.
Horsham’s first task in the Trophy is a tough one – they are at home to fellow National South side Torquay, who sit with them just below halfway in the current table.
Whitehawk are home to Tonbridge Angels, currently seventh in National South, and Chichester City visit Salisbury, who are fifth in National South.

Burgess Hill are anorher side facing National South opponents – they will visit Dover, who are currently 11th in that division.
Eastbourne Borough are the only side handed opposition below step two – they will host Southern League Premier South side Chersey, who are at the same level of the pyramid as the Sports.
Here are the ties involving Sussex teams:
Horsham v Torquay United
Whitehawk v Tonbridge Angels
Eastbourne Borough v Chertsey Town
Dover Athletic v Burgess Hill Town
Salisbury v Chichester City
These are due to be played on Saturday, November 14, with winning teams picking up £3,750 prize money.
