Pardoe’s perfect start helps Bognor Regis Town’s fine run continue
Luke Pardoe has won high praise from Bognor Regis Town manager Danny Hollands after enjoying a blistering start to his time at the Nye Camp.
His reflections come as Bognor prepare for a trip to Raynes Park Vale in the Isthmian South Central division on Saturday following a 2-1 home win over Moneyfields on Bank Holiday Monday.
Pardoe grabbed both goals – one an absolute screamer – in the game, taking his tally to four in five in league and cup after his summer move from Dorchester Town.
The victory and subsequent results mean the Nye Camp outfit are third in the table – and the encouraging league position comes on the back of a 3-0 FA Trophy home win against South Park last Saturday. The two triumphs have engendered an upbeat mood in PO21.

Speaking to the club’s YouTube channel, Hollands said: “Luke’s a very, very good player. We knew when we got him that he can do things other people can’t. He has got loads of ability — and his goals sum that up — and it’s a privilege to have him, like a lot of the lads and we have got a really good squad.
“We are only a few games in so (the results) mean absolutely nothing at the moment. We have got to make sure that we get consistency for the whole season. We need to try to keep pace with those at the top throughout the season.”
Hollands brought in defender Henry Nevill (corr) on a dual registration signing from Chichester City in time to play against Moneyfields and he was impressed with the full-back’s quality.
He added: “I watched him in pre-season and he has good attributes and he can play in a number of different positions. He came in and did a great job and you can see what he brings; he has got a lot of energy, he's good technically and I think he's got that little bit of a bite about him which is always nice — we need that little bit of character as well so he ticks a lot of boxes.”
Meanwhile, Bognor’s reward for beating South Park in the FA Trophy is a trip to Hastings United on September 12.
