There’s plenty going on in Eastbourne this festive period. Here’s a look so you don’t miss anything!

November 19 – December 23: Christmas at Drusillas, Drusillas Park

Santa experience, live huskies, singing reindeer, plus lots more. More information here.

November 24: Christmas light switch on, Bankers Corner on Terminus Road

Featuring an interactive Christmas tree, there will also be a vegan market and craft fair from 10am–8pm accompanied by children’s rides, with live music from 3pm–8pm.

November 25: Meads Magic, Meads Street

Meads Street will be closed to traffic and filled with festive fun from 2.30pm-7.30pm. The Christmas market will be selling locally-made jewellery, ceramics, festive decorations, cards and locally-produced festive goods. There will also be street food on offer while you shop.

November 26 – December 23 : Christmas events at KiddiCity, Langney Shopping Centre

Santa’s grotto, breakfast with Santa, elf discos.

December 1 – January 8: The Lightning Fibre Ice Rink and Winterland, Enterprise Shopping Centre

The real ice rink will be surrounded by the twinkling lights and wooden cabin market stalls of Winterland with a wide selection of gifts available alongside tasty food and drink stalls, the Winterland Bar and at weekends a Santa’s grotto. Chris Fowler, customer services director at Southern, said: “It’s great to be the official travel partner for the Christmas Ice Rink in Eastbourne for the second year. The Lightning Fibre Ice Rink is right outside of Eastbourne station, making it a great destination to travel to by train. Families can benefit from great savings including kids for £2 and group save. December 1: Little Chelsea’s Festive Fun and Fireworks night

Filled with independent shops and eateries, shoppers can enjoy live music, children’s rides and entertainment from 4pm with a glittering firework finale at 7pm.

December 2: Festive French Market, Terminus Road

December 3 – 4 / 10 – 11 / 17 – 18: Santa Claus and Santa Paws on the seafront

December 3 – 4: Sussex Craft and Design Christmas Fair, Enterprise Shopping Centre

Ceramics, textiles, pottery, glasswork, contemporary jewellery, artwork, interior and home accessories. Open 10am-5pm on Saturday, 10am-4pm on Sunday.

December 6: Eastbourne Concert Orchestra Christmas Concert, All Saints Church (7.30pm)

December 9 – 10: Christmas parties, Winter Garden

Three-course Christmas menu, DJ, disco, live tribute acts.

December 9-10: Sovereign Shines and Santa Stroll, Sovereign Harbour

Live performances and a Christmas market. Santa Stroll on December 10 from the Waterfront organised by the Rotary Club and Premier Sovereign Harbour as main sponsors. Open 2pm-8pm on Friday and 10am-3pm on Saturday.

December 10 – 11: Christmas Craft Fair, The Beachy Head Story (10am-4pm both days)

December 9 – January 15: Pantomime, Devonshire Park Theatre

Get ready for a magical afternoon or evening filled with fun, laughter and surprises – this year it’s Aladdin.

Councillor Margaret Bannister, Eastbourne Borough Council’s lead cabinet member for tourism and culture, said: “The festive season is upon us and there is so much to do in Eastbourne. From traditional markets, Christmas lights and of course the fantastic ice rink, with Eastbourne train station located right in the heart of the festivities, whether you’re visiting Eastbourne for a seasonal break away or popping into town to soak up the Christmas spirit, travelling by train is a no brainer!”
