Celebrating the theme of traditional games and pastimes, there will be a programme of activities and crafts that changes weekly, including nature trails, orienteering, singing and puzzles. 
Weekly  themes include natural world games (Monday, 1 until Sunday, August 7) with activities including shadow puppets, nature trail, orienteering, craft boats and stick challenge. From Monday, August 8 until Sunday, August 14 it will focus on hobbies and pastimes. Week three will be focussed on team games, activities include song or chant rounds, tag, capture the flag, bowling and quoits, team puzzle. Week four theme will be personal challenges (Monday, August 22 until Wednesday, August 31.) with an egg and spoon distance challenge, hop scotch, singing kettle challenge.
Families can also enjoy exploring the beautiful grounds, seeing traditional farm animals and discovering the many historic buildings such as the working watermill, bakehouse and Victorian school to find out what life was like in the past. 
From July until September, the Museum has additional summer demonstrations across the historic homes and workplaces, which span 1,000 years of history. 
This summer also sees the return of the Museum's outdoor theatre events featuring family favourites such as Awful Aunty, Peter Rabbit, The Wind in the Willows and more.
