Local broadband provide Lightning Fibre is proud to take over the Heathfield Show Hedgerow board signage sponsorship which has, for the past two decades, been sponsored by Freeman Forman Estate Agents.

Lightning Fibre have also agreed, as part of their new partnership, to connect their Full Fibre broadband network to the Showground, delivering up to 10Gbps to the event site for free, giving hyper fast broadband access to traders, exhibitors, visitors and volunteers - over 17,000 people are expected to attend on the 28th May.

Ben Ferriman, Lightning Fibre Founder and CEO, said: “With homes in the area struggling to reach 30Mbps download speeds using the outdated copper wires still in use by the mainstream internet service providers, the connectivity in this field will be over 300 times faster than most homes and businesses can access right now. We’re building our brand new Full Fibre network as fast as we can to meet the huge local demand.”

Rita Dingwall, Heathfield Show Chairperson, added, “We’re grateful to Lightning Fibre for supporting the show, and we’re very excited to bring Full Fibre broadband to the showground for the first time; we’ll be one of the best connected shows in the whole of the UK, which is brilliant for all involved.”

The good news is that, as the network is being extended from central Heathfield, eastward to the showground to deliver broadband for the event, the company has decided to extend their locally built and locally operated network to Broad Oak.

“This is great news. What an amazing ‘by product’ of the Heathfield Show sponsorship agreement that Broad Oak will now enjoy hyper fast speeds courtesy of Lightning Fibre. Rural areas have been held back by low broadband speeds; this proper full fibre network could not come soon enough. I am very glad to see that a local firm, using local employees, will be carrying out this work.” Councillor Roy Galley, Wealden Cabinet Member for Economic Development.

Headquartered in Eastbourne, 95% of Lightning Fibre employees come from East Sussex, and the install and customer care teams are based in Polegate. The company charges highly competitive prices, to suit all requirements, and local residents are encouraged to register online at www.LightningFibre.co.uk for more information. As the network is symmetric, unlike other providers, consumers enjoy guaranteed upload and download speeds of at least 100Mbps at the modem. The network supports 10,000Mbps, making it completely future-proofed for decades to come.
