Local voluntary horticultural organisation Bexhill In Bloom entered the Royal Horticultural Society’s South and South East In Bloom awards coastal category earlier this year.

Judges visited Bexhill-on-Sea in July to look at a number of factors including how horticulture adds cosmetic value to a town, environmental impact, community engagement and multi agency working .
The awards ceremony was held at RHS Wisley.
Following a tour managed by the organisations President Lord Brett McLean and committee member Councillor Polly Grey, the judges assessment was for a sixth year running GOLD.
Lord Brett McLean who doubles as a Royal Voluntary Service Platinum Champion said " This Gold award pays tribute to the entire team of Bexhill In Bloom volunteers, their partnership working with other agencies such as Rother District Council, Bexhill-on-Sea Town Council, Idverde, Lions, Rotary, Young Pollinators etc all of whom play a vital tole to ensure that Bexhill-on-Sea is a wonderfully cosmetically pleasing to the eye for residents and visitors to the area.
Bexhill In Bloom is very proud to receive for the sixth year running a Gold Award.
Bexhill in Bloom volunteers meet on a Thursday afternoon in Egerton Park by the sensory garden and are on the look out for more volunteers.
