I am sorry that two weeks were missing but my husband and I were celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary and we decided to go on a three week cruise. We had a wonderful time and a much needed rest. Although getting up at 6am in the morning after putting the clocks forward by an hour was a bit gruelling, however it was worth it to see the wonderful caves in Gibraltar and the Barbary Macaque Monkeys that were quite cheeky and we were warned to look after our bags and phones as they were likely to take them.

The weather was a bit of a shock today, Sunday, was very cold compared to what we had in the Mediterranean. Harvest Festival was celebrated at Brede and the lunch consisted of different soups and bread that accompanied it, this was followed by a selection of puddings all provided by members of St George’s, it was a very convivial event enjoyed by all who attended. Earlier gifts of food were put under the pulpit arrangement and they and the money collected today, I believe is going to the Rye food bank.
Friday 23 October Brede Farmers Market is every week with fresh veg and fruit etc. with other fresh locally produced food such as beef, venison, Lamb and fresh fish. There can be interesting stalls as different ones pop up over the month, some are regular as are the tea volunteers; Ann, Eileen and Lesley will be serving teas today. We have donated this quarter £500 to the village Hall for a bench at the end of the car par, £500 to Brede CP School towards their Literacy programme and with the money taken on the 25th September at the Farmers Market we made it up to £100 for MacMillans Coffee Morning. We thank everyone who buys refreshments at the Farmers market as you see the profit we make goes to worthwhile causes.
