Residents and team members at Care UK’s Darlington Court, on The Leas off Station Road in Rustington, walked the runway and strutted their stuff during a special event inspired by London Fashion Week.

The show was organised in support of Dizzy, a local charity shop that raises funds to support diabetes awareness and education.

Residents visited the pre-loved store to choose vibrant outfits and dazzling accessories, giving them the chance to get creative with their looks while championing a cause key to the local community.

During the catwalk, team members modelled their glamorous outfits while residents took on the important role of judges to decide the winners of categories such as ‘best smile’ and ‘best catwalk’.

Resident Harry Bland said: “The lifestyle team did a great job in choosing the out fits for the “models” and the whole day was full of fun. Dizzy are a fantastic local charity and it is great to help local organisations.”

The event raised funds and awareness for Dizzy, with the funds contributing towards the charity’s diabetes awareness sessions and the running of its shop.

Costin Matei, Home Manager at Darlington Court, said: “We had a fantastic time hosting our Darlington Court Fashion Show.

“We are always looking for new and exciting ways to encourage residents to reminisce about their careers and interests. Fashion is always a popular topic at the home, so we pulled out all the stops to give them a real modelling experience – red carpet included.

“It is so important to help local charities like Dizzy, and we are so grateful for its contribution to our fashion show. We’re already looking forward to our next event!”
