The Deputy Mayor of Hailsham, Councillor Colin Mitchell, will join audiences for a special evening of music and community fundraising when Hailsham Voices and Eastbourne Voices Community Pop Choirs perform together at The Winter Garden in Eastbourne on Saturday 7th November.

This year's 'Voices in Harmony' concert will have an important charitable focus, with donations being collected during the evening in support of East Sussex Wildlife Rescue & Ambulance Service (WRAS), helping the charity continue its vital work rescuing and caring for injured, sick and orphaned wildlife across the local area.
The fundraising initiative will bring an added dimension to the concert, giving audience members an opportunity to support the welfare of local wildlife while enjoying a night of live music. WRAS provides a frontline rescue service for wildlife casualties, offering emergency assistance, treatment, rehabilitation and advice to people who encounter animals in distress. Operating throughout the year, the charity relies on public donations to fund its work and ensure vulnerable wildlife receives the care it needs.
From injured hedgehogs and birds to other wild animals requiring urgent help, WRAS provides a lifeline to creatures that might otherwise have nowhere to turn. Donations collected at the concert will help support this work, making the evening an opportunity to celebrate both local musical talent and the community's commitment to animal welfare.
Deputy Town Mayor, Councillor Colin Mitchell said: "This concert is a wonderful example of community spirit in action, bringing people together through music while also raising awareness of a cause that deserves our support. East Sussex Wildlife Rescue & Ambulance Service does essential work caring for injured and distressed wildlife, and I hope concertgoers will give generously to help the charity continue its efforts. It is particularly encouraging to see local performers using their talents to make a positive difference beyond the stage."
The concert will see approximately 150 singers from Hailsham Voices and Eastbourne Voices join forces for their second collaborative performance, following last year's sell-out event. Audiences can look forward to an uplifting programme of popular songs, performed by two community choirs showcasing the strength and diversity of musical talent across East Sussex.
Choir leader Abbie Marsden said: "We wanted this year's concert to be about more than bringing two fantastic choirs together. Supporting East Sussex WRAS gives us the opportunity to help animals in our local community that need urgent care, and we are delighted that donations will be collected at the event."
"The charity does such important work, often in difficult circumstances, and every contribution can help. We hope our audience will enjoy the music, support the fundraising and leave knowing they have helped make a difference to local wildlife."
The concert will offer an evening of music, shared purpose and community generosity, with the combined voices of around 150 singers providing the soundtrack to a fundraising effort for a worthwhile local cause.
Tickets cost between £7 and £14, plus online booking fees where applicable, and are available to purchase online: https://trafalgartickets.com/eastbourne-theatres-eastbourne/en-GB/event/music/voices-in-harmony-ticketsThe concert will run for approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes, including an interval.
