It's been a damp week with precipitation every day and 47mm (1.9") of rain logged by the Hastings Weather Volunteers - around double what you might expect at this time of year. Strangely, sunshine has held up and was about average for October.

After weeks of high temperatures, things dropped back this week with the mean maximum of 14.2°C being -1.2°C below the 30ya and the mean minimum of 9.2°C being -0.6°C below the average. The sea temperature has remained above average but has dropped 4/5°C since the start of the month.
Storm Austen on Friday 23rd brought high winds and some downed branches but no substantial damage.
