Saturday Horsham Lions from Horsham Bowling Club played away at Horley Ravens in the Sussex Knockout Cup, coming away with a well deserved victory 38-31. Ali Hilton-Childes, Tim Hossack, Kay Baldock and Rob Saunders started well going 8-1 up after 3 ends and maintained their lead despite a fightback in the closing stages by Ravens, finishing 19-17 victors.
Top rink went to Val Hawkins, Calvin Evans, Chris Hilton-Childes and Mo Whittle who went 0-5 down after 3 ends to finish 19-14 winners. A pleasing win against a very good Horley team.
Sunday saw Horsham Cheetahs visit Norfolk Alpacas in the same competition, but couldn't repeat the success of the Lions from the previous day going down 23-48. Ian MacCullock, Dave Goodman, Graeme Gardner and Dave Marden lost 14-18, while Gill MacCullock, Marion Goodman, John Bentley and Gerard Donck went down 9-30.
