Over 60s FA Cup Group Stage
Kent Over 60s 1 - 1 Lewes Town Over 60s
Lewes Town are in a tough opening group for the 2026-27 over 60s FA Cup. The group includes National holders East Sussex, Surrey and Kent. Their first game was away to Kent on a difficult grass pitch in Larkfield.
Lewes started stronger and Dave Tutton put an early chance just wide of the post. However Kent started to take control of the game and after a couple of chances drilled home the opener on 30 minutes. Lewes Town improved on the pitch in the second half but Dave Long and Bioletti had to be constantly alert to breaks from Kent. Lewes got their reward after 70 minutes with a scrambled equaliser from Fred Furner. Both teams hunted for the winner with Kent denied by two superb saves from Lewes keeper James Rock. Lewes also hit the bar with a looping effort from Simon Murray. So a point a piece on a blisteringly hot day. Next up in the group for Lewes Town are East Sussex on 4 October at Newhaven FC, while Kent visit Surrey.
