LAWN MOWING!: Well, unbelievably, I've had to Mow, and I haven't mown since May; crikey that was hard work, the grass was very long in places, and weedy in others-everything is struggling to equalise since we've had a bit of rain! I tried to find some Blackberries on Sunday, and it's really interesting that the fruits that had come out early have just shrivelled in the hot sun, but, after a bit of rain, the brambles have regrouped a bit, and decided to have another go, so now there's a secondary flourish of determined fruits! N.B-Trying to judge the pectin levels when making Blackberry Jelly would be a nightmare!! But, enough were picked to add to the last few apples(the crop also decimated by the extreme weather)and joined by some locally grown plums , given a taste of sloe gin, and cooked for a delicious Sunday evening dessert!!! Fabulous!
