Polegate Mayor joins Linking Lives Eastbourne's 10th anniversary celebration
Flow-8802792-Political opinion: Saved (for now) - Andrew Griffith MP comments on latest statement on local government reorganisation
The Mayor of Polegate recently attended the 10th anniversary celebration of Linking Lives Eastbourne at King's Church, where he met representatives from local community organisation Sweet Circus CIC and learned more about their work across East Sussex.
As part of the event, the Mayor took part in one of Sweet Circus CIC's activities by having a go at balancing spinning plates, a popular circus skill that proved both entertaining and challenging.
Sweet Circus CIC is a not-for-profit organisation that uses inclusive circus and activity-based sessions to support physical, mental and social wellbeing. Their programmes help bring people together, build confidence, reduce loneliness and encourage participation in community life.
The celebration marked ten years of Linking Lives Eastbourne's work connecting people and tackling social isolation within the local area.
The Mayor said: "It was a pleasure to attend the 10th anniversary celebration of Linking Lives Eastbourne and to meet the team from Sweet Circus CIC. I thoroughly enjoyed trying the spinning plates and seeing first-hand how their activities bring people together. Congratulations to everyone involved in reaching this important milestone and for the difference they continue to make in our communities."
