The gift from Tate of Sussex to Southwick Methodists will be used as a lasting gift to give to show members of a fellowship group that they are remembered, and valued.

“The planted bulbs will signify both something that is lasting and hopefully bring some colour in the dark winter months”, says Bridget Quint, lay leader at the Manor Hall Road church.

The donation from Mayberry Garden Centre of bulbs and growing material was gratefully received by Bridget who has recently taken over running the group of some thirty parishioners who live on their own, some unable to attend church.

“It’s lovely to support a local group that brings people together and helps them feel valued within their community”, said Benjamin Tate, executive director of Tates of Sussex Garden Centres. “We hope these hyacinths bring a little joy and colour into their homes during the winter months, giving everyone something special to nurture and look forward to.”
