V2 Radio was at the heart of the action on Saturday, 8 August, broadcasting live from Goodwood and joining music celebrations in Chichester.

While one team joined the supercars at the Saywell International Track Day at Goodwood Motor Circuit, another helped entertain crowds at the first Back Then Festival in Chichester city centre.
The station was proud to serve as the festival’s media partner, having supported the event since March. In the months leading up to the day, V2 Radio promoted ticket sales, interviewed bands appearing on the main stage and invited listeners to vote in the Battle of the Bands.

On site, presenters Emilia, Steve and Gary took to the main stage to introduce acts, chat with performers and keep the atmosphere buzzing. They also captured social-media content, while others in the team handed out merchandise, met listeners and made friends.
The festival partnership was about more than publicity. It offered a chance to celebrate local music and showcase the performers, businesses and people who make Chichester such a lively place.
Meanwhile, the Saywell International Track Day brought families and motoring enthusiasts face-to-face with an impressive collection of high-performance cars.
The free event also raised £15,000 for V2 Radio’s Beds4Kids campaign, which provides beds for Sussex children whose families are experiencing difficult circumstances.
The campaign, run with the Rotary Club of Chichester Harbour, Ashton Care Group and Cuff Miller, has helped local families, although demand remains high.
Peter Saywell, MD of Saywell International, said: “It was a great day all-round with young and old, which applied to both cars and people.
“Driving at the Goodwood Circuit is an experience on its own, and raising money for such a good cause makes it even more rewarding.”
The next Saywell International Track Day will take place at Goodwood on Saturday, 10 October, raising money for The Sussex Snowdrop Trust.
For V2 Radio, it was a day of music, motors and community spirit — and one V2 Radio will fondly remember.
