Westgate Leisure Centre has been named a finalist in two categories at the prestigious National Fitness Awards, recognising the centre's commitment to delivering outstanding fitness experiences and supporting the health and wellbeing of the whole community.

Operated by Leisure Solutions Community Trust (LSCT) on behalf of Chichester District Council, Westgate Leisure Centre has been shortlisted in the Local Authority/Leisure Trust Gym of the Year and Community Involvement categories.
Over the past year, the Westgate team has continued to enhance the customer experience through a wide range of fitness programmes, wellbeing initiatives and community-focused activities designed to support members in achieving their health and fitness goals.
The Active Wellbeing Team, whose work is recognised in the Community Involvement category, delivers inclusive, community-focused programmes that help inactive and underrepresented groups become more physically active. Working with trusted local partners, they provide tailored opportunities that improve health, wellbeing and social outcomes both within leisure centres and out in the community.
In the Local Authority/Leisure Trust Gym of the Year category, the centre is recognised for its major gym refurbishment, including new EGYM technology, an improved layout and expanded training options. Designed for users of all abilities and experience levels, the upgraded facility has received strong member feedback as well as increases in overall participation.
Matt Low, Contract Manager for LSCT in Chichester said: "To be recognised as a finalist in not one but two categories at the National Fitness Awards is a tremendous achievement and a testament to the passion, professionalism and commitment of our entire team.
"Every day, our colleagues work hard to create a welcoming and supportive environment where our customers can be active, improve their wellbeing and achieve their personal goals. We are incredibly proud of this recognition and look forward to representing Chichester on the national stage."
National Fitness Awards’ event director Mike Hewitt added: “We have had a record number of entries this year, with the standard across the board being excellent – a true testament to the innovation and strength of the vibrant UK fitness industry… getting on a shortlist has been more difficult than ever this year and it’s a huge achievement for all those that have made the finals – truly the elites of the fitness world”
Winners will be announced at the National Fitness Awards ceremony, which takes place in November at the Athena venue in Leicester, bringing together leading organisations and professionals from across the UK fitness and wellbeing sector.
Leisure Solutions Community Trust (LSCT), in partnership with Serco Leisure operate three leisure facilities on behalf of Chichester District Council. All three centres are operated under the customer-facing MORE Leisure brand.
