New twist for Romesh Ranganathan as Celebrity Traitors tension builds

Spoiler alert: This story contains details from episode eight of The Celebrity Traitors – you have been warned!

Crawley’s Romesh Ranganathan survived another murder scare on The Celebrity Traitors – but new predictions put him favourite to become the traitors’ next victim.

The comedian made it to breakfast during episode eight, after Miranda Hart was murdered instead, leaving the faithfuls confused.

Before his arrival, contestants had speculated that Romesh would be the one missing from the table. Leigh-Anne Pinnock highlighted his influence during roundtable discussions, saying he helped her notice new ideas and theories.

His survival gave Crawley’s own comedian and presenter another day in the castle, but the qualities earning him the trust of his fellow faithfuls could make him a target once again.

ActionNetwork.com has put Romesh at 13/7 to become the traitors’ sixth victim, representing an implied probability of 35 per cent. Sebastian ‘Bash’ Croft follows at 7/3, or 30 per cent.

In commentary accompanying its predictions, the website suggested Romesh’s vote for Michael Sheen could give the traitors an opportunity to divert suspicion.

“Romesh keeps coming across as a true faithful to the others,” a spokesperson said.

"And since he voted for Michael Sheen at the round table, Romesh’s murder might point a few more fingers at Michael – which is exactly the kind of distraction the traitors need heading into the end game.”.

Meanwhile, viewers face a wait to discover whether Sharon Rooney or Joanne McNally will be banished after the roundtable ended on a cliffhanger.

Traitor King Kenny, whose vote counts for double for one roundtable only, will make the all important decision following a tie. ActionNetwork.com makes Sharon the favourite to leave at 3/7, with Joanne at 3/2, suggesting Kenny could repeat his earlier vote for Sharon.

The website’s winner predictions have also shifted, with the three traitors now occupying the leading positions.

Maya Jama is favourite at 7/3, while James Acaster and King Kenny are joint second at 3/1.

For Romesh, the immediate challenge is surviving long enough to threaten their chances. His fellow contestants have recognised the value of his contributions – and the latest predictions suggest the traitors have good reason to notice them too.
