Lewes District Council says Halloween fun at Newhaven Fort takes place every day of October half-term
Lewes District Council (LDC) says family Halloween activities are planned for every day of the October half-term at Newhaven Fort.
LDC said visitors can enjoy a different attraction each day from Monday to Saturday, October 26-31.
These include: storytelling, crafts, magic shows, encounters with snakes and creepy crawlies, spooky tunnels and a family ghost hunt.
The council added that the programme has been designed to offer something for all ages.

Councillor Johnny Denis, Cabinet Member for Tourism and Leisure at Lewes District Council, said: “Newhaven Fort is one of our district’s most popular visitor attractions, and this exciting programme offers families a fantastic way to enjoy the half-term holidays together.”
The week begins with witch-themed storytelling and crafts on Monday, October 26, followed by a visit from Reptylers on Tuesday, October 27, who will be bringing their snakes and other creatures along. On Wednesday, October 28, families can enjoy a Wacky Wizard Magic Show and wizard-themed crafts.
Visitors can explore the fort’s tunnels from Thursday, October 29, through to Saturday, October 31, and a family ghost hunt is set to take place on the evening of Thursday, October 29. LDC said the ghost hunt must be booked in advance at www.the-pigs.co.uk.
The final event will be Halloween-themed crafts on Saturday, October 31.
Fort Manager Lindsay Lawrence said: “We’ve packed the week with plenty of Halloween-themed fun and can't wait to welcome visitors. Whether you’re meeting snakes and creepy crawlies, enjoying our magic show or venturing into the spooky tunnels, there will be lots of memorable experiences for families throughout the half-term break.”
The fort said the tunnels are recommended for children aged eight and older and warned that there are steps in the tunnels, which might not be suitable for people with mobility aids.
