Pop-up Christmas shop opens at former Wilko store in Horsham
A pop-up Christmas shop has opened in Horsham.
It has been set up for the festive season at the site of the former Wilko store, on the West Street corner of Swan Walk Shopping Centre.
The unit was most recently occupied briefly by Horsham Home Store – which sold a range of homeware items including curtains, bedding, rugs, electricals, luggage, kitchenware and toys.
After the closure of that business was reported in December 2025, the site was marketed by Horsham property specialists Crickmay.

The team at Crickmay said the premises offered accommodation over ground and first floors but had potential to be split providing a number of units.
When did Wilko close?
The shop was the last Wilko in Sussex to shut following the company’s initial collapse.
Shoppers visited the budget brand’s Horsham branch for the last time on Its final day of trading – October 8, 2023 – snapping up a few remaining bargains from the otherwise empty shelves.

The nationwide business had been trading since 1930.
Horsham residents took to social media to share their sadness. One woman said: “Goodbye Wilkos thanks for the memories.”
Another said: “Huge loss.” And another: “Loved Wilko, shame to see it go.”
In 2026, Wilko is still trading under new ownership. CDS Superstores, which also owns The Range, acquired the brand.
As of October 2, its owner’s directory lists seven standalone Wilko stores, with none in Sussex.
