Aldi submits plans for second Chichester store
Global supermarket Aldi has submitted a planning application for a second store in Chichester.
The proposed location for the new store is Terminus Road, only 10 minutes away from the existing Aldi on Barnfield Drive, which will remain open.
Plans not only involve a new supermarket – considered to offer the cheapest prices in the UK – but around 40 new jobs paid above the National Living Wage.
Aldi also says it will create further employment opportunities through the construction process and supply chain.

Proposals include a free customer car park with accessible spaces, parent and child spaces, bicycle parking, and electric vehicle charging points.
The investment will be £7 million.
Matthias Daly, real estate director at Aldi, said: “We are pleased to have submitted the planning application for a new Aldi store in Chichester.
"During our public consultation earlier this year, over 200 people (84% of responses) said that a new Aldi store would benefit the local area.
"We thank local people for giving us this vote of confidence and are committed to continued engagement with the local community and council.”
