Why a 'growing space' might be the answer for time-stretched gardeners in Crowborough
A town council is looking for people who like growing things, but don't have the time or space to commit to a whole allotment plot.
Crowborough Town Council is exploring ideas to create a community growing space in the town and wants to hear from residents.
A spokesperson said: "A Community Growing Space might not be just an allotment plot at one of our existing sites. It could be an area of land, or simply a planter in the town set aside for that purpose. It would just be a shared facility to encourage people to grow.
"Before we move forward with the project, we are asking for people to let us know what they think."

Residents are invited to visit the Town Council website crowboroughtowncouncil.gov.uk for the link to a questionnaire. The closing date is November 13.
Community growing spaces can offer a wide range of benefits. They support social interaction and inclusion, help reduce loneliness and improve physical and mental wellbeing. They can also be used for learning and education purposes. Community growing can also increase local biodiversity and help to reduce carbon emissions linked to food transport.
