Date revealed for Lewes STEM Festival as event celebrates 10th anniversary with hands-on activities for all ages
The team behind the Lewes STEM Festival has confirmed the event is set to return on Sunday, November 15.
The free festival will be at Lewes Town Hall with hands-on science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) activities for all ages.

It was established in 2016 and is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.
It aims to inspire young people and encourage an interest in STEM by showcasing all of the science and research taking place in Lewes and the surrounding area.
Professor Stephen Wilkins, chair of Curiosity Sussex, said: “I’m delighted that the Lewes STEM Festival is returning for its tenth birthday. We set up this event to fill a gap we felt existed in Lewes: a free, accessible celebration of all the STEM activity in the town and surrounding area. Since that first event, which welcomed around 500 people, it has grown to more than 30 exhibits and 1,200 visitors — which is fantastic to see.”
The Lewes STEM Festival Team said the day, from 11am to 3pm, will bring together scientists, researchers, Sussex organisations and community groups for a programme of interactive exhibits, experiments and demonstrations. The team added that, among the attractions, visitors can take a virtual reality trip to the International Space Station, see how different wind turbine designs generate electricity with RWE Rampion and see immune cells under a microscope with NHS scientists.
Activities are suitable for adults and for children aged six and up. University students and researchers will be at the event to answer questions from GCSE and A-level students about STEM subjects and careers.
The festival is organised by the Curiosity Sussex charity. Entry is free and no booking is required. Visit curiositysussex.github.io to find out more.
