‘Accidental’ fire breaks out in Pevensey Bay on New Year’s Eve

An ‘accidental’ blaze broke out in Pevensey Bay on New Year’s Eve, the fire service has said.

A spokesperson from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said it was called at around 5.30pm on Saturday, December 31, to reports of a fire at an industrial unit in Marine Road.

The spokesperson added: “Four fire engines attended. Crews used breathing apparatus to deal with the incident.”

The blaze was accidental and it is believed to have started in a car, according to the fire service.
