South East Water: Burst main leaves West Sussex homes without water
Hundreds of homes in part of West Sussex were hit by a water outage on Saturday, August 8.
‘Just under 800 customers’ in and around Balcombe were left with low water pressure or no water at all due to a burst main.
South East Water’s head of operations control, Mathew Dean, said: “We’re sorry to customers in Balcombe who are experiencing no water or low pressure.

“This has been caused by a burst main in Brook Street, initially just under 800 customers were affected, however we have moved water around the network to bring back the majority of customers into supply.
"Currently 63 customers within the burst zone remain without supply.
“Our teams are on site completing the repair, which has required a road closure for the safety of the public and our staff.
“We can’t say just yet how long it will take to restore supplies or reopen the road, but please be assured that we are working as quickly and safely as possible to get water supplies restored and the road returned to a safe and driveable condition.”
An update shared on AquAlerter at around 9pm confirmed the outage had been resolved.
South East Water has been approached for further comment.
