Talk at Lewes Climate Hub shows how electric homes can earn money

A free talk at Lewes Climate Hub aims to show the benefits of electric homes.

OVESCO community energy is hosting the event at 1.30pm on Saturday, November 7, at the hub at 32 High Street.

The talk explores how a home run on ‘green’ electricity can slash bills and carbon emissions, and how it can even earn owners money.

OVESCO director Nicki Myers said: “This season is looking at how the UK’s electricity grid is moving away from fossil fuels to local green energy. Saturday’s talk will be an opportunity to see how your homes can benefit from that process. Plus you can ask your own questions about installing heat pumps, solar panels, batteries and other features to your property.”

The event is part of the ‘Charging Ahead’ season at Lewes Climate Hub. OVESCO will discuss how heat pumps, solar panels, storage batteries and electric cars can be used together to optimise household energy efficiency. It will also look at how an electric home can earn money when used in conjunction with smart energy tariffs.

The season also features a talk on Saturday, November 14, at 1.30pm, about the UK’s electricity grid.
