Garfield on hand to help celebrate Horsham centre’s birthday

The beloved comicstrip character will be at Horsham’s Swan Walk to mark the shopping centre’s 40th birthday on Saturday (September 12).

The centre was established in 1975 and developed by Norwich Union Insurance Group. Originally an open walkway, it was enclosed with a glass roof and extended in 1989.

This Saturday sees a host of events to mark the anniversary.

Comicstrip cat Garfield will be available for visitors to meet at intervals between 11am and 4pm.

Other activities in the centre will include a giant birthday card workshop, raffle and giant Playmobil trail.

Visitors who spend more than £40 will have the chance to win a birthday present.

Many of the shopping centre’s businesses will be joining in the fun, with a number offering discount vouchers including Toy Barnhaus, Le Brunch, Begs ETC, N&P Jewellers, Hotter, Regis, Jessops, All That Glitters and Moshulu.
